re: investing in Start with WPL because without their gas Chinese industry will come to a screaming halt. Next the Oz iron ore companies because China needs heaps of steel. After them you can look at nickel, copper, tin, zinc etc. As for companies trying to operate in China, beware, there are not many people that get a better deal than a Chinese businessman. Make sure the company holds an exclusive position in whatever market they are in and has good internal Chinese links...ie close to Chinese government and the corruption. Australian importers of cheap Chinese goods must have done well over the years, CML, WES etc. At some time in the future our software type companies may do well; also those involved in transport of goods to and from China.
