Moving back to the original rationale for the placement.
If it is about acquistions of embattled competitors (or their debt ledgers) is't this putting the cart before the horse?
I.e. surely possible to put in a takeover offer before financing is secured. And only then hit up markets with a capital raise?
Otherwise, why not just defer dividends over next 12 months if CCP's earnings take a hit? But it is really too early to know what that impact is (or it wasn't made very clear in the company announcement). Debt is so cheap at the moment, and share prices are so beaten up - that I can't get my around capital raisings.
