I agree @kellbys... Morrison and Turnbull before him, are under the thrall of Trump and have repeated Trump arrogance and ignorance against China too often over recent years.

This latest echoing of Trump's demand for an independent investigation is merely belligerence as WHO has stated that after every infectious disease outbreak they out-source to independent research orgs the task of investigating origins and methods of approaching outbreaks of disease. WHO is an independent body in their own right. The US is only using WHO as a means of distracting the voters from the appalling mismanagement of the covid response at the WH level.

Aus should not accept US instructions on how to respond to covid or China. Morrison demonstrates his own weakness in international diplomacy by doing Trump's bidding and risks our economic sustainability. Attacking Forrest is a bizarre twist as he achieved what the Govt could not, providing PPE and testing equipment for the Govt.

The Govt response to all this will have significant impacts on our economy. They would know this yet have pursued this controversial and unnecessary demand. I'm in no doubt that they would have been advised against such and chose to ignore that advice. This does not bode well for our economic future.

    Scott.
