I think we are at cross purposes here. A SSB battery is lighter than a lithium ion battery. Distance is a function of density, efficiency , weight and energy loss. I suspect a SSB battery is more efficient, has lower energy loss, and because of lower weight, will mean the EV itself will go further distance to a NCM battery, regardless of the fact both batteries are 50 kWh. That is a guess. Or another way to say it, I understand SSBs will cost more than a NCM at the same 50kWh 'range' so why would a consumer switch if there is no energy per km benefit?
