I too have lost a lot of faith in EW a long time ago. It's only ever of much use in hindsight, as I think you said as well. However, it's still worth keeping half an eye on it; just like so many other indicators and studies, just to get a better feel of where the market may be heading and to set appropriate entry and exit points.
