Purely as an academic exercise, let’s crunch the numbers on one of their peers that has reduced their MD’s remuneration. Let’s choose one at random, maybe EGR... 50% on salary while covid crisis is happening.
I can’t imagine he will keep this pay cut for more than 6-12 months. I’ll use 6 months for this number crunching exercise.
MD salary at EGR with 6 month’s at 50% = $338k - ($338kx.5)/2 = $253.5k
compared with wkt MD salary with no reduction of $250k...
So, with EGR MD taking a 50% pay cut for 6 months, his salary is still larger that his counterpart at wkt.
I am going to speculate that this was actually done because at the time he took this temporary salary decrease, EGR only had $99k in the bank and needed the reduction to keep the lights on. Covid was just a convenient excuse.
