Theres no way they won't be the future... they are- and they're in good use.. a thought has occured to me that he is talking down cobalt as to lower the price and buy a mine...
Good point 351gt , cobalt has been talked down in the past to gain a beneficial price. If Tesla can achieve cobalt free battery it would create new sales but the better high performance models would probably need cobalt in the mix. There is always a risk of fire as cobalt is weened out of battery production. The company would have to be 100% certain before launching the new technology , if there was a fire it would damage ,the company’s image & sales overnight IMO.
