trust you are ok
while I agree with most of what you say
the urgency of finding a vaccine will mean that some of the protocols will be side stepped.
So it will be less than 10 years
Maybe one year ( plus or minus)
with respect to mutations:
once a vaccine that works is developed,
it is much easier to modify it to allow for mutations than having to start from scratch.
