A bank pulling the plug on a viable income generating business (like Centro) after lending a truck load of money is not in the best long term interest of the banks shareholders. It would generate a negative sentiment for future dealings with said bank thereby limiting the banks full potential to deliver earnings because the distrust element is introduced.
Any bank playing "hard ball" with a viable business meeting loan repayments needs to have a long hard look at them - especially when the Govt. has come to the party to ensure the bank's long term future through the deposit guarantee.
