With brighter days ahead, though it’s a bit hard to see with the waters being so murky, whether it’s for you or not, it’s a good time to consider to do an off line transfer but it takes a little time for the paperwork to go through. If my memory serves me correctly, with an off line transfer you can back date it up to three (or at least two) months. Transferring it to your superfund or another individual you can pick the low of 31/10/08 of 10.5c (mind you it was only 100 shares, the rest traded above 19c), this gives you a sizeable tax deduction. Keep in mind that if we do get 50c ish then they/it end up with a profit of 39.5c & the tax implications with it. It may not be the best play for those who have held the shares for more than 12mths or who will have a low negative income for this year. Of course you need to do your own research.
