bladelle if you want to put your toe into the water while you learn, follow UBS ratings buy/hold/sell. They have target prices. For example they have BUY - Adelaide Brighton Limited (ABC) current price $2.47, target price $3.50 (I'm not recommending the stock, it's just 1st on the list). But go through the list and do your research on anything you might like and set up a watchlist. UBS don't get it right every time.
I bought NWH (NRW Holdings) because UBS have been bullish on it for a while now. I had it on my watchlist and followed it before I bought it. Don't expect to have these type of days on any stock you buy. Just enjoy them on the off chance they occur.
