Great question!
Friday's new global Covid cases probably just exceeded Thursdays record number.. circa 110K new cases..
Albeit, concentrated in places that "don't matter"..
As we all now, something happening in the US, or western Europe, is far weightier than the same thing happening anywhere else on the planet....
US new cases still pretty high also however..
I have been reflecting on Central Bank balance sheets this morning.
The key question, is does it work?
Can we stave of the economic cycle into perpetuity? Just by printing?
So far, Japan's experience seems to say so, however when does it end?
At some point, you would effectively nationalise every asset in the country..
I'm sort of forming the view that it will work at least for a good while yet... Maybe another 5 or 10 years type time frame...
