yes, Bpay billers have a biller agreement with BPay that obliges them to treat payments as having been made on the day the payer makes them. However billers don’t always do that. And the biller in the case of an SPP is the share registry, not the company, so if they don’t meet their contractual obligations to BPay you’re probably shit out of luck. Generally you can’t sue on a contract to which you’re not party.

but the real nail in the coffin is, under SPPs clear terms, your money has to be in by a fixed time, usually 5pm. A biller can meet its BPay contract obligation by recognising the money as having been paid at 5:01pm, or 5:02pm, etc etc etc. In which case, again, no shares for you, and no chance of redress either.
