Well, that was a nice Sunday read. Maybe one day you'll let your hair down a bit and tell us what you really think. ASIC, if they read your comment (which they won't) would argue that you are wrong when you say "And there are no protections build-in within the systems to protect them", because of course there's ASIC. ASIC is there to police the market against malpractice, but - to use your words - is actually grossly and disproportionately and dishonestly weighted against honest mom and dad investors, and all those other hard-working and tax-paying little people who enter the market with the best of intentions.
The real problem is that mom and dad investors don't have the big money, and money talks. Charles Bowen, a judge no less showing remarkable insight, wrote:
The rain it raineth on the just

We need a new umbrella.
