If we must be bipolar maybe authoritarianism and true libertariansim sit at opposite ends of the spectrum. The so-called far left and the so-called far right BOTH stand for authoritariansism. Authoritarian followers need to find new saviours IMHO.but people can climb out of such messes by working with each other, helping each other, trusting each other and so on.
