Australia and France have a double taxation agreement so you can get a credit for all the URW wh tax, and withholding taxes imposed by other countries with a dta, up to a $1000 ceiling on your personal tax return. Over that a complicated formula applies and may not get full credit. I only have URW and Resmed to worry about plus a few managed funds which pass on some wh tax credits so I claim the lot each year and being under $1000 it all comes off my tax. However others may be in different position.
