Banker I doubt you will have any disputes from retail investors as to the manner in which the collective were shafted by some management and associates of Range, with a wink or two given when its time to buy and when to sell along the way. What a pity Opes happened, however many innocent people were also caught up in that scam as well unfortunately

The only aspect that really sets this story apart from most of their stable is they do have a very real asset and yes its clearly apparent many hurdles with getting access to that asset.

What also "still" gives the story potential unlike the minerals or technology sectors requiring development financing of assets is that Oil is a diminishing resource and in this case a valuable tool.

Note in particular the siesmic survey was not abandoned after the attempted kidnapping of the Brit, thats an important indicator and now the Lundin Group getting cashed up with the sale of Tanganyika Oil

Reading reports it appears results thus far obtained from the survey have been exceptional and certainly appears supported by the Lootah group recently agreeing to Port and Aifield development at Bosasso. Lootah have not invested in the Pirates den on a whim.

Ironically earlier this year when we were all hearing drilling would definitely happen in 2008, privately calls were being made that whilst seismic results were in fact exeptional drilling would not happen until 2009. Hersi is up for re-election in Jan, so I expect December would be good news month.

The jungle drums are beating loud with discontent and deservedly so, the investors have been deliverately done over, guess the only way to soothe the passion is now to deliver and maybe we could be fortunate to finally see something positive.

As for the players associated with the Range story, to quote Malcolm Blight, I doubt very much they will give a Rats Toss Bag about those who have lost their money that they pocketed along the way.

However I think for those remaining by their finger nails we shall see some positives bought about by the new players very soon.

Who knows there maybe a light at the end of this tunnel yet
