I have a more sinister view on last minute sales. If you only look at the closing price at the end of the day you only see that the stock is down not what it did during the day. This happens quite a lot if a stock starts to trade up all day it only takes one seller with minimum expenditure to knock it down giving the impression that the stock is no good.
