WHO have a mixed track record on this pandemic, but quickly adopted the German coronavirus test by 17 January. My understanding is that is a major factor in why our testing was successful - we adopted the WHO approved testing regime.
The US was still stuffing up in March with a test that couldn't tell the difference between coronavirus and water. That's one reason why there are so many dead Americans and so few dead Australians.
That's only one of the many things done for us by WHO. And of course their work in our Pacific region has saved many, many lives. No wonder the anti-vaxxers hate WHO. Even with the political pressure and pitiful budget, they're still preventing so much disease and death, particularly in developing countries.
