don't forget that when you buy gold mining companies, you are not just buying gold.
you are buying exposure to - labour costs
- equipment costs
- engineering success / failure
- fuel costs
- natural environment risks ( mine collapses / landslides / floods )
- sovereign risks ( PNG, Africa)
etc etc.
I learned the above the hard way !
POG has staid up in Aussie dollars, yet share prices of NCM and LGL have fallen 50% from their highs earlier in the year !!
