I'm not short all the time, I have ridden bhp up and down. I use tight stops and if it runs the wrong way i will switch my position to suit. Still think there is downside to the market, but will sit out until I can see an entry point either way. Have lost 6k today by using the stops. Ouch. Can't win them all. lol
Also i dont like people losing money, good luck with your trading.
