I wouldn't say the market has bottomed, it was more of a market shock reaction, the severity and entirety of the problem had yet to manifest itself.
If you compare the GFC in 2008, the crash did not happen instantaneously, it was over a sustained period of time with numerous swings. As summarized below, the destruction was over a sustained period of time.
- 2007 -Dow Opens the year at 12,474.52
- Jan 2008 -Dow Hovers around 12,000-13,000
- March 2008 - Dow Drops to 11,650.44
- May 2008 - Dow Rises above 13,000
- July 20018 - Dow falls to 10,962.54
- September 2008 - Dow is at 11,416.37
- November 2008, Dow Jones Plummeted to 7,552
- Dec 2008 - Dow Jones back up to 8,776
- Jan 2009 - Dow Jones up to 9,034
- March 2009 - Dow Jones Bottoms 6,594
IMO, and further to my previous post, I believe the worst is yet to come. We can discuss economics all day long. I love it.
