They are very attractive assets. Power stations can make a lot of money. The electricity market runs as a spot market (and of course, some contracts - but there are not many of them) and there is money to be made if you have big generators (as BBP does).
So whether they succeed or not, there will be buyers for their assets (finance permitting, of course). But they simply cannot shutdown - there would be rolling blackouts - or the electricity market price would go through the roof and governments would step in.
