    The derangement syndrome is spreading.

Every time a project is proposed, it just happens to be
    "sacred Aboriginal ground".

Two killer roads in Victoria are the western highway (Glenelg Hwy) and northern Henty Highway.
The Glenelg runs from Ballarat to the port of Portland.
The Henty from the Wimmera south.

Railways used to carry the millions of tons of wheat and other grains
for export at Portland grain terminal (grain is very heavy).

The government neglected maintenance on the rail and a couple of accidents tore up track.

So for 10 years B Doubles have been carting grain on these roads.
I drove the Glenelg Highway on a trip to SA last winter.
A Landcruiser will take foot-deep potholes in its stride at 100kmh.
Double that (60cm) is a problem.

So acting quickly - after 10 years, the Socialist democratic government of Vic decided to
upgrade and remake the Glenelg Highway.

The local Aboriginals objected to the removal of sacred trees on sacred land.
    They were "birthing trees"
Honest, hand on heart, they declared women climbed these trees to give birth.

Even stupider (if that's a word) was
    VicRoads bought the story.

Now after another two years delay
the high court found that the story about the trees was made up.

The Aboriginals were really looking for a suitcase of cash to go away.
