This is curious. You’re not supposed to pay a dividend unless you’re making a profit of enough size to pay for it. The forecast profit for this year isn’t really large enough to justify a dividend...it would be half a cent, and surely the small profit is better used to upgrade stock or pay down debt at this stage. So is this a sign of optimism about 20/21? I recall management referring to a desire to release unused franking credits, but talk of dividends seems a little premature at this stage. Still, it’s encouraging stuff to read.
