To put it simply scuttlebutt, you are throwing away even more money in the hope that the SP will go back up to entry price which in many instances it doesnt. In the case of MCC, it has gone from around $7.70 to $3.40 in two weeks which is more than half of its value. What happens to the strategy if MCC was to go to $3 or even $2? You would be stuffed. Going against the trend never works.
