Hi Kiwi ... I don't think the US will have any choice.
The USD is finished as a reserve currency simply because there's too much of it - they've been printing much too much of it for much too long ... and after this sucker rally is over it'll sink like a stone.
Already there are signals from the Arab countries, the Asians and South Americans that they have begun to diversify out of USD.
I never said the Yuan would replace it.
Could be gold that replaces it ... who knows. It'll be a brand new world that'll set it's own rules.
And oil? Yep, it will fall further as deleveraging continues, as will commodities and equities in the short term, but supply issues will eventually take over again.
Time frame unknown.
Just an opinion.
And the US itself? I think Obama will be a great president who came a decade too late.
