Yes that is right but OPTUS (owned by Singtel) are the ones putting in the money. All the other ISP's have no money and that is why they have lost 2-3 of their consortium in the last few weeks. The other ISP's are token players only.
I seriously doubt any full NBN would be built in this economic environment. Maybe just the cities and the burbs where most businesses dwell.
The Gov't will not have any $4-5billion given their spend rate to avoid a recession and more pressing infrastructure builds like WATER. The Gov't will go through with the tender but that is as far as it goes. Awarding any contracts will be delayed or suspended as a minimum.
Theses are my personal views but if anyone wants a side PUNT I am happy to have a go???
