I believe what is happening with these phone calls is to field the level of, and more importantly the specific reason/s, for SH's discontent, to prepare for the AGM.
The way I see it is this, vcr is well aware of the discontent and that SH are ready to express that discontent at the AGM. So rather than being surprised with questions and issues at the AGM, they are spending the money trying to identify these issues up-front, so that they are prepared at the AGM.
This might be seen as extra expenses, but by the looks of things, management is desperate for survival - they sense how unhappy the SH are, and they don't mind spending the extra money to be prepared for the AGM, and ensure their survival!!!!!
