I don't think your comment is applicable in this scenario, Evolt was their first commercialised integration. The 1st of any task ALWAYS takes the longest. Processes have been refined, lessons have been learnt, and no doubt, there will be some reusable code.
I would say common sense dictates the IT team would've been mindful of future integrations so they would've produced a software that is at least abit easier to integrate with external partners. It's impossible to have a one software fits all, there's definitely a large bespoke element to this software, but they've known about Bearn for a while.

This IP must be complex and their patents help solidify that. The development minds behind it are the intelligent quiet achievers, not management. So im going to assume the bright minds behind it aren't stupid enough to not make this as scalable as feasibly possible. But this is just my thoughts anyway... interested to hear other opinions.
