yup. I use to work in this area. I’ve heard many an idiot say to me in confidence that BHP pays no tax and is a cheat.... I slap my head and tell them they are actually our largest tax payer in Australia (generally each year). They look in shock as I explain it.
Its not just USA based entities avoiding tax, it’s most foreign tech and low margin businesses that do. Which is exactly why I don’t shop at ALDI, IKEA etc. Transfer price profits away effectively legally too. It’s a disgrace.
