No one begrudges a founder and management being richly rewarded for business performance. Everyone understands that young businesses, especially in medical devices, are risky investments. But what you don't usually get is the kind of announcements you get from this company with things being just about to happen, no follow through and the share price grinding down for years. The chart below shows a company that has burned through a lot of shareholder cash.
So I am not at all critical of businesses not succeeding as failure or delays can happen even with the best will in the world. My point remains that if you hype up the company repeatedly, then give no explanation when your predictions don't eventuate, then ask for huge additional performance rights with no explanation, then don't be surprised if we say no. Business failure is not in management's control, but communication is.
