UK energy minister - “For now fracking is over”

"... for now, fracking is over"

From North West Tonight, the Energy Minister Kwasi Kwarteng:

Roger Johnson - "Do you now think that the fracking debate will go away? Is it the end for fracking?"

Kwasi Kwarteng - "We had a moratorium on fracking last year, and frankly the debate's moved on, it's nothing we're looking to do, we've always said that we'd be evidence backed, so if there was a time when the science er evidence changed our minds we'd be open to that, but for now fracking is over."

RJ - "That's a really interesting development - so you're saying that's it?"

KK - "I said that there's a moratorium that we did, at the end of last year.."

RJ - "And you've moved on."

KK - "We've moved on, exactly."
