I would hate to have seen biotas price if they went ahead with the trial. All the $60-$80m in cash would have been hurt badly in legal fees. Agree about board issues but BTA just isn't a CSL or COH... they have to get some runs on the board with LANI and HRV. They have some good deals in place and I'm confident that 2009 will prove me right i.e. current prices are CRAZY cheap.

I'm tipping a huge rally in stocks early in 2009... if we are lucky then Biota may have some news for us. If I was a director I would keep enough cash to last 5 years (say $40m) and spend $20-$40m on a sustained buyback... not sure on the max buy backs allowed if any. These prices are not going to last long, management should take advantage. Reduce the shares by half will double the value later on.
