I think this is all a pointless argument, some people just buy a gold or gold equities as a means of diversification which is essential to a good portfolio.
Skol seems to think as soon as someone mentions gold on this forum they are 100% in one asset class.
I think this index comparison argument should be on another forum and not the gold thread.
