2011 vs now ASX 200 index inclusion

Posters much more experienced and long term holders like ecoool2 have posted in details about the current inclusion of MSB into the ASX 200. e.g.

However, curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to go over what in 2011, the last time MSB made it into the ASX 200.

I pulled up the charts and announcements from then and here's what I found:

• Note the pattern of high volumes and drops / sell-off following the 18th April 2011 ASX inclusion.
• Note the continued drop on reasonably good announcements.
• Long term trend was upwards until 4Cs in late 2011 and early 2012

My takeaways for the extended sell-off we're witnessing:

1. EOFY profit-taking being last week of June at least partially responsible
2. New levels of volume and shares on issue at play compared to 2011
3. AU $138 million raised via insto placement at $3.20 per share in May

MSB in a different era, different time, in the limelight with some big things on the horizon despite COVID.

The past isn't always the predictor of the future. DYOR.
