Why not bought by a big player? Because every serious company has an exit strategy from its inception. Some want to build a product or mvp and sell it off before it gets legs, basically sell the idea and let others realise its potential (low risk but miss out on the big financial reward) and then others like PCK float the company on the stock market to fund growth and commercialisation. So if they aren't looking for a big player to buy them at this stage then why is this a problem? Not every companys exit strategy is to get bought out at the earliest opportunity. Its actually pretty evident in PDs interviews when he states that his plan from the beginning was to transform this into a mini Cochlear (that was prior to the hospital and delerium market was even being considered). I don't expect a buy out is or will be on the cards for a long time. They have the perfect business model of low expenses to high rev ratio when they integrate with partners around the globe. I think that is their focus right now. Which they are doing pretty bloody well for such a small company! What after the Gov funding? How is it that something as positive as government funding to roll out our product has been turned into a negative point of conversation by some? The statement should be "wow, it has government funding!". Basically the best type of marketing possible of letting our customers try and test the product for 12 months at no cost while we get paid for it! Where is the negative? It also goes to show that the govt felt the need for our product, which means they were under pressure from the industry to help with a growing problem and we are that answer to that problem. So for all of you who state that there isn't a need or no one wants our product and its been slow to uptake, that's just not true! So, what happens after Government funding? Well, that's where something like understanding the business and industry you have invested in comes into play and you have to make your own educated assumption because no one here is a time traveller and can tell you what the churn rate will be in 2 - 3years time or if the government will increase the funding or if new partnerships will form...Im not directing all this at you specifically however I wanted to address some of your questions. But to anyone who believes that the business is failing, overvalued or has no more runway for growth, please send facts and details about how this is the case, I'm genuinely interested!
