I came across this 2016 video from Grant Williams (who I really rate) and, 3.5 years later he looks to be bang on...funny - the US debt was only $19 trillion back then. They have managed to add another $7 trillion since!! He sums everything up nicely from about the 32 min mark.


Here's an updated chart to see the difference of the situation since 2016 (note the beginning of the latest recession)...



... and that was 3 years before Covid-19 even made itself known.....
