The meaning of the Bible has been examined, contested, argued and wondered about for thousands of years by the most devout and intelligent minds of both believers and doubters.OK then, lets examine how flawed this comment is, or not as valid as it should be. If memory serves me correct, you do not accept what the mainstream Christians claim, re the trinity and all the frills that go with it. Now then, we have supposedly had all sorts of said scholars at this for many years and yet they have it wrong BIG time.
You also appear to totally dismiss, ignore or unaware of some very important words of Jesus = FEW find it -> Truth. ------------
The disciples had already been sent to preach the Kingdom of God.
Sorry to burst your bubble, or is that the spirit you spoke of lol, but the above does zero for your case. Now then, you might have to shut down your set seeds and pay attention lol.
John 17:18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. So what would Jesus have taught them, relayed to them; Matt 4:17 - From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matt 10:7 - And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
The fact that they were preaching the Kingdom of God, does not relate to the seeing of it, or your can't say they have already seen it. They would have effectively repeated Jesus's words, teaching, it is still close at hand. ------- Why did the Gospel authors use the word "see" in the verses we are discussing ? What was this "Kingdom of God" they were to "see" ?
In part, I already cover this, but if memory serves me correct, you dismissed it or deemed it as waffle. At times in the Bible, seeing and hearing is not necessarily in the literal context.
Ex -> John 14:9-10 - Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Because Jesus was raised for many years, given the word, when Jesus spoke he expressed out the Word = God, hence Jesus became or was then known as, the Express Image. Jesus could very well have said above,....if you have seen (heard) me you have seen (heard) the Father. But not literally. --------- 27 For the Son of Man will come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and thenHe will repay each one according to what he has done.
Now then, in fitting in with the preceding messages to the some standing here; Matt 14:12 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do.
So, their not ashamed of him (as Jesus covers) and because of, using his name, means they accept him and his message, he will (through the Father) reward each.
Comes in his Fathers Glory, which is word, the Word; 14:18 - I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Hmm, some standing there are going to see something that all the tribes are Not? Some rewarded because of what they do and accept?
14:26 - But the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Hmm, more rewards, meaning? John 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
