Absolutely! BUT did you know that non-whites are even more racist than supposedly we whities are?
I actually had a nasty experience on HC this week because a part-Chainese took me to be a racist. This is an important lesson on racism so I will give you a few points:
1) We were discussing Chainese investment into a co, especially at the 'digger and driller" level and I said that when that happens, from past bitter experience, look out and be very careful.
2) One poster who claimed to be part Chainese took offence, even though other posters supported my argument with their own bitter experiences, claiming I was racist. No matter what I said he was "trolling" me. I put him on ignore but later found out he had continued "outing" me as a racist without my knowledge (so had to "un-ignore" him) to defend myself. Took a while but things seem to have settled down now.
So moral of the story - we need to be very careful. I suspect that those who take offence are probably really racist themselves but this issue of racism is a minefield. Many instances of "racism" are not racism at all from my experience but is quickly taken as such and much is made of it. I suspect that because of the CV and CCP flexing its muscles, a lot of Chainese probably feel people are being racist towards them. But what if whities behaved in similar fashion against other whities - how could you call that racism? IMO this is where the problem lies - because you are of a different colour you immediately assume people are being racist!!!!!!
