I don't want this to become an Uber thread, but this is a fallacy. You're forgetting about competition. Think about how ruthlessly competitive this space is with Uber, Lyft, Didi, Ola etc. It's Econ 101. They will all compete do be the cheapest and the price for rides will drop exponentially. The consumer wins big, but its neutral from the company's perspective.
