A 68% shortfall in the rights issue is more a longfall. Goes to show there's no real institutional or broker support for Arafura.
As far as NPV goes, if you look at a 15% discount rate (ie; the risk of The Bomb) and project out to 2014 for your first returns, its better to sink your money into a guaranteed deposit account right now. If you just look at NPV from a banking perspective in 2001, yeah, it would be a nice investment. But that ignores the fact that sticking your money into the 28c scrip issue right now locks it away for 6+ years before it pays off the major investment and 16 years before it pays you back in full - which is a lot of compounding in a bank deposit.
Or you can find any number of other shares and take an equal risk and get a good 10-15% dividend yield to cushion you through the risk you are taking.
No wonder 68% of holders found their wallets empty, like me. I'm over risk and over being lied to on a weekly basis by greedy so-and-so's which is MY experience of investing in public companies.
