Afterpay's $900 million share auction appears likely to be done at $66 a share, following an update from the company's brokers ahead of the close.
Citi and Goldman Sachs' desks told clients the deal was "covered through the range" heading into the 5pm close.
The range was set at $61.75 to $66 a share, and the brokers were taking bids in 25¢ increments from the floor price.
The message superceded an earlier book update sent at lunchtime that said the deal was covered at $62.50.
A deal at $66 a share would be a 2.9 per cent discount to the last close.
