At this time I thought the doji on the far right was a play to push down the price lower into close.
I was then expecting a larger auction - perhaps closing the auction at 8.8 - but that didn't actually transpire.

Either way, yes your are correct. It was a test of support, and an indication at 8.7 is indeed the new support.
It will push through higher into 9c in the coming days (if not tomorrow)
