The deposit contains both an upper section of oxide ore, whilst sulphide ore is deeper down. This happens with various near surface deposits because of the oxygen in our atmosphere reactions with the upper layer (over a long time). The SX/EW would be used to process the oxide ore in the upper layer, then flotation is used to process the sulphide material. This is what transpired at Nifty previously.
