i dont think it was that i couldn't switch when doing my work - i just didn't have time for really creative things as in art and craft etc. i travelled for work, i worked long and hard. I gave up my involvement in theatre when i was about 28 and as a working mother just didn't have time for real art. though maybe i did it by making my children arty farty clothes, drawing and painting with them and playing games. but that was less for me.
My children have both sides at work. I have plenty of artistic cousins. my great grandfather was a scientist who taught piano and his sister did all the drawings of plants for his scientific publications. my grandfather on the other side was also very artistic but a banker. so i think the genes are there for both and both were nurtured.
