I wonder if it might not be a good time to introduce an auxiliary language into the world so that every country and peoples can learn it so that we can all understand each other. By all means retain mother tongues and native languages and let's not fiddle around with cultural languages. It would be a relatively simple thing to adopt a global auxiliary language that would enable everybody to understand each other. It could be rolled out in a decade or so if the spirit was willing. Imagine if we could all understand each other? There will be endless arguments, of course, as to the composition of this language, but it could be achieved. I believe that Esperanto was developed as an auxiliary language for the world but it needed global support and uptake. It seems so logical that it's hard to believe that in 2020 we can't communicate person to person anywhere on earth.

Doubt it, English is the world language. With smart phones and apps any two people can now communicate. Would love to see the Chinese run with English and finish the job the yanks started in the1800's (colour color).When China has the most English speakers, they will own English.
