'immaterial'. I find that to be very rude.
The shareholders own the company and management just says 'well you thought it was worth XYZ, but now its not anymore'. That is not immaterial IMO. But it all depends if the SP gets a bettering as a result.
On the flip-side, if you are going to go through a painful period you might as well bite the bullet and do all the painful stuff in one go.
