One could swear that most people brought up in English speaking households use English as a second language.
It is the only language I can communicate with but I still struggle with it
I’ve spent a bit of time in non English speaking countries, tried to get a grasp of these languages (just the simple stuff) and learnt just one salient fact!
I have no aptitude for my native tongue or anyone else’s
Without autocorrects my skills would be blatantly obvious.
Certain people have a knack for picking up other languages but the percentage number is very small, I’ll need to insert the goldfish into my ear before I can understand another language.
PS The goldfish comes from Douglas Adams book Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy as I’m not insane, just a bit Quirky
