Except the CC fee is negligible, and many shops dont accept amex specifically because the fee is large (2%). APT charges 4 - 6%, way more than amex so i dont see how its sustainable. The CC fee is often passed on to customers as well, esp for smaller stores
Online is a different beast where you save on rent / staff so the cost of an online CC transaction outweighs the other fixed costs.
